Thanks to this sensor, the robot can create a detailed virtual map of your home to ensure that all areas are clean.
This robot completes its intelligent navigation with 11 sensors: anti-fall, object sensor, walls… It has 4 anti-fall sensors (2 in the front and 2 in the back). Its transmission system has been improved, it moves forward in a more controlled way and it moves backwards with more strength. That’s why the Roborock S4 doesn’t get stuck where others do.
Its suction power is up to 2,000 Pa so it sucks up all kinds of particles and debris. It has 4 levels of operation to adjust the power: silent, standard, strong and maximum. All solid waste ends up in its 420 ml tank where you will also find a washable EPA E11 filter that returns particle-free air to your home.
However, unlike the rest of the brand’s robots, it does not have a carpet sensor so it does not increase the power. However, thanks to its large wheels and its third front wheel, it can overcome unevennesses of up to 2 centimeters. The main brush combines bristle strips and other silicone strips to avoid tangles with hairs. Therefore it is a pet-friendly robot.
This central brush is floating and adapts to the different heights of your floor without stopping cleaning. But there’s another novelty: the front side brush is now made of rubber and has changed from 3 legs to 5 legs for better cleaning. It also adapts its speed, accelerating when it passes over edges or corners and slowing down when working in the centre of the room, to avoid dispersing the debris.
As you see, we have not talked about its scrubbing function, because to adjust its price the Roborock S4 eliminates this function. It is the only Roborock robot, along with the Xiaowa C10 Youth Edition, that does not have a mop. And although it is compatible with Alexa and Google Home, at the moment it can only be linked with Google for accounts in Spain.
In terms of autonomy, the Roborock S4 has a 5,200 mAh battery but thanks to the elimination of certain functions, it can vacuum up to 180 minutes, a time in which it can vacuum a floor of up to 250 square meters. The robot returns to the charging base when the battery is low and resumes cleaning when it is 80% charged until it has completed its route.
Control and program the Roborock S4 through its mobile application
All Roborock models feature support for the Xiaomi Mi Home mobile application, this particular model also supports the Roborock application.
